market wrap report for the week ended 28 May 2010

WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS

The FBM KLCI eased to a 14-month intraday low of 1,243.8 points on Friday before closing at 1,269.1 points to register a loss of 1.3% for the week.



Regional markets generally closed on a positive note with the China H shares market rising by 4.2% on optimism that China may ease credit tightening measures as Europes sovereign debt crisis may dampen global economic growth.



Looking ahead, the local market is anticipated to move in tandem with overseas markets. Investors will continue to monitor the outlook for global economic activities and the impact of the European sovereign debt crisis on financial markets.
