WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS
Led by gains in selected index stocks, the FBM KLCI rose by 1% to close at a 33-month high of 1,505.7 points for the week.
Regional markets closed on a mixed note on concerns that the U.S. Federal Reserves anticipated quantitative easing program to be announced at the forthcoming Federal Open Market Committee meeting on 3rd November may involve the purchase of a smaller than expected quantity of U.S. Treasury bonds.
Looking ahead, the local market is anticipated to move in tandem with overseas markets as investors continue to monitor the outlook for global economic activities.
